Projects & Problems: Extended Collaborative Learning

Pulp-O-Mizer-Cover-ImageAccording to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the ability to collaborate with others on projects is one of the most important skills employers look for when hiring, second only to critical thinking skills. Teaching our students to use the knowledge and skills they've learned in our classes in a collaborative manner takes more than just putting the students in small groups. Our students need opportunities to practice the skills necessary to be good teammates: interpersonal skills and task management, in particular.

Through this workshop, attendees will learn about two long-term group class projects helped students hone their collaborative skills as they confronted the problems of dystopias and racial capitalism.
