Where are we? Where are we going? And why?
Issues Related to Teaching with Technology at Xavier

For many years, Xavier faculty have used technology in an effort to improve the teaching process and student learning. Faculty use of technology ranges from no use to heavy use. This workshop is an open discussion of issues related to teaching with technology at Xavier.

Where are we relative to the use of technology in teaching and learning, and where are we going? What technologies are Xavier faculty using? Has what we've done thus far been successful? What are other institutions doing? What can we learn from assessing our own uses of teaching with technology? What features of a particular technology make assessment easier? Where do we begin and what questions should we ask before introducing technology in our teaching? What can we do and where can we go to learn more about technology in the teaching and learning processes? What role might technology play in tenure and promotion?

All interested faculty are invited to attend and participate in the discussions, whether or not they use technology in teaching and learning. A list of suggested readings will be provided prior to the workshop.
