Mindfulness for You & Your Students
Teaching can be a stressful occupation in the best of times. A tough economy and the prospect of institutional restructuring add to the uncertainty. Mix in a hurricane and a delayed start to the semester. It's a formula for anxiety.
Fortunately there are simple techniques which, when practiced daily, are clinically proven to help manage stress. In addition, these practices promote overall health and well-being. They have even been shown to enhance teaching and learning.
This session will give an overview of what "mindfulness" is, how it can be cultivated through a variety of formal practices, and how this can inform your teaching.
