Motivation to Speak: A Course Portfolio for SPCH 1010 (Fundamentals of Public Speaking)

Challenges addressed by this project include: A. the need to build a passion for public speaking; B. the need to increase students' ability to link other knowledge and skills to public speaking situations; and C. the need to decrease the connection between grade and self-worth and to increase the connection between grade and individual performance.
Dr. Thomson's portfolio includes her philosophy of teaching and course reflection statements, various course materials, and an assessment of the above-mentioned challenges.
