Technology Tuesdays at Sherwood Forest

A Technology Professional Development Program

Goal: to provide technology training to a few teachers using the donated services of the School/University Liaison at Xavier University of Louisiana.

Plan: Teachers will be trained in Hyperstudio (multimedia authoring software), using email in the classroom for communication with parents and the technology liaison, using the existing digital cameras, printers, and scanners that are in the school as part of job-embedded training. To accomplish this mission, teachers will need to be available during the school day; therefore a need for substitutes. The liaison will cover the first two hours of training with the first set of lead teachers. The school will work out a plan to use this team of developing experts to support other faculty in their use of technology. The training will be available to others teachers, pending scheduling and substitutes. A proposed schedule follows:

Assessment: A pre and post skills survey will be given to participants to assess their beginning level and competencies at the end of the training. The lead teachers will complete a formal evaluation at the end of each component of the training.
