Connecting Communities Through Engagement
XCOR 1010 and Service-Learning

Considering a proposal for the new core class XCOR 1010: Connecting Communities? Whether your class is focused on critically engaging the mission (Xavier Experience) or emphasizes New Orleans as text (New Orleans Experience), there is no better way to achieve course outcomes than through service-learning. In this session, we will present models for 3-credit-hour service-learning courses that include sample community contact schedules, assignments, and outcomes. Then we’ll provide time and space for you to brainstorm and discuss ideas with small groups of other teachers.
